I have a 10-15 year old Quickie automatic mop handle that needed a new sponge. Immediately I could tell that this replacement is not the same quality as the one it replaced. Whereas the older one felt beefier and was constructed with metal parts including the screws, this one weighs almost nothing and is constructed not primarily plastics parts including the wing nut screws. The sponge even of lower quality but is more dense than its older counterpart. However, it cleans the same and absorbs well and is easier to drain due to the lighter sponge. Like everything else made today, the company chose to go with cheaper parts in an effort to save a couple of cents. Even the blue scrub pad is thin and just falls off rendering it pretty useless. The old scrub pad held on tight and never fell off.
